Provide good jobs that pay working families fairly.

Establish a Fair Minimum Wage: A hard days work deserves honest pay, but for many Idahoans wages have not kept up with the rising cost of health care, child care and education expenses.  By establishing a fair minimum wage in Idaho, we can start to eliminate the need for government subsidies and help hardworking Idahoans achieve better financial security for their families.

Equal Pay for Equal Work: In Idaho, women working the same job as men only earn $0.76 for every $1.00 that men earn.  Even worse, African-American women make only $0.64 and Latinas earn only $0.53 for every $1.00 that men earn.  We must end this unjust inequity and strengthen our state laws ensuring that women earn the same amount of money as men for equal work.

Allow Workers Freedom to Get a New Job or Start a New Business: Past employers should not be able to limit Idahoans from getting a new job or starting a new business.  Our current non-compete laws are some of the most regressive in the nation.  Non-compete laws like Idaho’s reduce job mobility, discourage entrepreneurship and depress wages.  Ensuring that Idaho workers can advance their careers benefits all Idahoans by creating a more skilled and more entrepreneurial workforce and a thriving economy.
